Acupuncture.
Acupuncture is an ancient practice of Chinese medicine and one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body for the purpose of affecting the movement and balance of energy (Qi). This in turn helps to realign imbalance and promote health. The stimulation created by the needles can have a variety of beneficial effects including - nervous system regulation, decreased pain by increasing movement through congested tissue, stimulation of specific organ function, hormone regulation. Moxa
Moxa is a form of heat therapy where the dried herb Mugwort is burned over specific points or regions of the body for therapeutic effect.
Cupping
Cupping therapy involved the application of glass or silicone cups to the skin to create a suction against the tissue. The suction aids in releasing tight tissue and promotes circulation to the area(s) applied.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha therapy utilizes a tool to scrape the skin to promote circulation and decrease tissue adhesions. It is a common therapy used for pain conditions as well as acute cold and flu symptoms. It is commonly performed on the neck, back, and muscles, or near joints where there are adhesions.
